Manchester City star Erling Haaland will be sidelined for up to seven weeks due to an ankle injury. The Norwegian striker picked up the injury during Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final win against Bournemouth, according to manager Pep Guardiola.
Haaland was substituted in the 61st minute after scoring City’s equalizer. Despite his absence, City secured a 2-1 victory to reach the semi-finals. A viral video later showed the 24-year-old leaving the Vitality Stadium on crutches, his left ankle wrapped in a protective boot.

Guardiola Confirms Recovery Timeline
“The doctors say he will be out for five to seven weeks,” Guardiola stated. “Hopefully, he will return before the end of the season and be ready for the Club World Cup.”
The City boss acknowledged that injuries have plagued their squad all season. “Sometimes, these things happen,” he added.
Haaland to See a Specialist
Manchester City confirmed on Monday that Haaland will consult a specialist. The club remains optimistic that he will return to action before the season ends, including the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.

Despite missing a penalty and two clear chances on Sunday, Haaland managed to turn in Nico O’Reilly’s cross to bring City level. Omar Marmoush later netted the winning goal, securing City’s place in the semi-finals.
City’s Last Chance for a Trophy
With an underwhelming Premier League campaign and early exits from the Champions League and Carabao Cup, the FA Cup remains City’s only shot at silverware this season.
Guardiola has faced multiple injury setbacks throughout the campaign. Currently, his side sits fifth in the Premier League, trailing Chelsea by one point in the battle for a Champions League spot.
